Nichole Cyr pleaded guilty this week to two counts of sexual exploitation of children and now faces between 15 and 30 years behind bars, US Attorney for Massachusetts Rachael Rollins said.
Police began investigating Cyr in 2020 when they found child pornography on her phones, authorities said. Investigators found several videos of Cyr sexually assaulting a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old she was babysitting, the US Attorney's Office said. She babysat the children multiple times, and they found several videos featuring the toddler, authorities said.
She reportedly sent those videos to Paul Weddington, police said. Officers found text messages between the two that included the videos.
A judge sentenced Weddington to 12 years in prison earlier this year, authorities said.
“Today, Ms. Cyr admitted to some of the most egregious conduct that my office prosecutes," US Attorney Rollins said on Thursday, Sept. 22. "She sexually victimized two children in her life – one that was only a toddler – captured the abuse on camera, and then shared the horrific material. Ms. Cyr took advantage of these young, innocent children entrusted to her care. For that, this predator is now a convicted felon facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison."
